Ruby Album Discography
By David Edwards, Patrice Eyries, and Mike Callahan
Last update: August 23, 2005

Ruby Records was a subsidiary of Slash Records. It was run by Chris D (Desjardins), leader of the Flesh Eaters.

It seems the more mainstream-palatable punk rock was issued on Slash, while the more hard-core stuff was on Ruby. At first Ruby, like Slash, was distributed independently. In 1982, Ruby went with Slash under the Warner Brothers distribution operations. Once it got to Warner Brothers, it was not long for the world.

Ruby Records used a gold label with the logo in red print at the top for many of its issues (e.g., 101, 102, 805, 807), and a silver variation for 103. Albums 804 and 806 had custom label designs.
