Swampfire Album Discography
By David Edwards and Mike Callahan
Last update: July 2, 2023

Swampfire was a subsidiary of Ambassador Records, which was in turn a subsidiary of Synthetic Plastics Company of Newark, New Jersey. The artists on this label were older pop artists. The Elgarts, Vaughn Monroe, and Florian Zabach all had big hits in the early 1950s but not much since that time.

All the albums were released in stereo only, since by 1969 the industry had mostly moved to all-stereo releases.

The swampfire label was yellow-orange with black print, with the multi-color logo at the top. Early labels (far left) had a small "ambassador" above the logo and "S.P.C., Newark, N.J. 07105 Made in U.S.A." around the bottom of the label. Later (near left), the "ambassador" was dropped above the logo, and the print around the bottom changed to "Ambassador Record Corp. Newark, N.J. 07105 Made in U.S.A."
