Parkway Label Album Discography
by Mike Callahan, David Edwards, and Patrice Eyries
Last update: February 19, 2008

The first Parkway label was orange with black print, with "PARKWAY" in a "jumble" of block letters around the top. This label was used until P-7006 (some issues of P-7007 have reportedly used the orange label, but most issues of P-7007 have the orange and yellow label.) Promotional issues of this label were white with black print, and were used considerably longer than when the orange and yellow label was introduced. The second Parkway label was orange with a yellow curvalinear square in the center. There are several variations of this label, some of which have small lyre-type logos to the left and right of the label name, while others don't. Promotional labels for this design were white with black print, with the lyre logos. Promotional singles using the jumbled blocks design, undoubtedly just using up old label blanks, are known to exist as late as 1967.

In 1966, Cameo-Parkway changed the logos of their two main record labels. The new Parkway logo was similar in design to the new Cameo logo (shown on the Cameo page). Although this new logo began appearing on Parkway albums starting around P-7050, the label design did not change until 1967, when Cameo-Parkway entered a distribution deal with MGM. At that time, the label changed to a green with a new logo.

Surprisingly, Parkway put out most of their albums in stereo. The stereo releases are noted with an "SP-" prefix before the album number, and where known, the actual stereo content of each track is given [S=True Stereo; E=Rechanneled stereo; M=Mono]. Those albums known to have been released in mono only are marked with a "P-" prefix, and those for which it is not known whether there was a stereo release are marked with an asterisk ("*P-" prefix).
