Gusto (GML, Inc.) of Nashville, TN, bought Starday-King from
Tennessee Recording and Publishing in 1975. Just before Starday sold the label, they began a reissue
campaign that resurrected both the Federal and DeLuxe labels, as well as King. With the purchase by
Gusto, these series were halted in favor of a new reissue series on Gusto/King.
