By 1958, Imperial was using the black label with colored rays for the mono releases. While this label
was used for monaural, a newly-designed black label with silver printing was used for stereo, with
"IMPERIAL STEREO" above the center hole. The numbering system for the stereo albums in the
LP-12000 series was completely different from the numbering system in the LP-9000 mono releases. The
mono numbers are given in the discography below first, followed by the stereo number (if any) in
parentheses. We have also provided a mono-stereo number cross-reference table for the LPs issued
during the time Imperial persisted in this confusing practice.
