Fantasy Album Discography, Part 10:
7000 Comedy/Spoken Word Series (1957-1973) & 34200 Series (1972)

By David Edwards, Mike Callahan, Patrice Eyries, Randy Watts and Tim Neely
Last update: November 22, 2010

The Fantasy 7000 Series was for comedy and spoken word. The first thirteen albums in this series were issued in monaural only. Of those, the first eleven were originally issued on red vinyl.

The Fantasy 7000 Series used the red/maroon Fantasy mono label (far left) for the first thirteen issues. After 1968, when all albums were stereo only, a couple of albums in this series used the blue Fantasy "Full Radial Stereo" labels (center left), while later releases in the 1970s used the brown Fantasy label with the large "F" logo. Since this series was kept in print for many years, albums are known with later label designs, and most of the red vinyl albums were subsequently released on black vinyl. The 34200 series also used the brown label.
