Casablanca Album Discography, Part 1:
Warner Brothers Distribution and Special Issues

By Patrice Eyries, David Edwards, and Mike Callahan
Last update: February 15, 2006

The NB 9000 series was the first series issued by Casablanca. It had the blue label (at left, above) with an urban skyline, and black printing. Text in an arc at the bottom of the label reads:"Casablanca Records, Inc. Manufactured and distributed by Warner Bros. Records, Inc." Near the end of 1974, when Casablanca was in financial trouble and broke away from Warner Brothers, they issued a "special products" LP of Johnny Carson skits (at center, above). It used the same basic label, but with silver printing. The text around the bottom of the label read, "Manufactured and distributed by Casablanca Records, Inc./Made In U.S.A." Casablanca would also issue other special promotional items from time to time, such as the Tour EP for their Summer 1976 tour. This particular EP had a custom label (above, right).
