Philly Groove Album Discography

The Philly Groove label was formed in 1967 by Stan Watson and Sam Bell in Philadelphia, PA. A&R for the label was by Thom Bell. The label had a limited number of artists, the most successful of which were the Delfonics and First Choice. Other artists who had singles for the label included Ben Aiken, the Crusaders, Billy Bass, the Coupe de Villes, Nat Turner's Rebellion, Tapestry, Broadway Express, David Lasley, and the Finishing Touch. The label lasted until about 1973, and the masters apparently went with Bell when the label changed names to Arista. Kory Records, a budget reissue label owned by Arista, issued compilations on both the Delfonics and First Choice in 1976.

The Philly Groove label was red with black print. "PHILLY GROOVE RECORDS" above the center hole.
